Review Policy:

Thank you for your interest in having your book reviewed by the Folded Pages Distillery. Please read the following before sending us your request.

We are happy to review hard copies, pdfs, or ebooks. We prefer to review books that have been published within the past year and are willing to consider reading self-published books or books from independent publishers as well. We mostly review Young Adult and Adult books, but we welcome Middle Grade too.

If we cannot review your book due to our workload, but you would like to have a chapter of your book featured on our blog, on Friday we post "Folded Fiction Friday". Please submit a chapter to foldedfiction@gmail.com and see the Writing Submission FFF tab for more information.

Genres that Hikari Loftus enjoys the most (not in any particular order):
  • Fantasy (middle grade, YA, and Adult)
  • Contemporary/Literary Fiction
  • Fairy Tales
  • Historical Fiction
  • Gothic
  • Dystopian
  • Science Fiction/Paranormal
Hikari does not review Erotica/Heavy Romance at all.

Hikari photographs and runs the Folded Pages Distillery Instagram page. Please direct Instagram inquires to her. She is also willing to consider author interviews.

Genres that Doni Faber enjoys the most (not in any particular order):
  • Children's fantasy
  • Children's historical fiction
  • Autobiography
  • Philosophy
  • Classics
  • Political Economy
  • Education
  • Developmental Psychology
  • Media Studies

Besides considering your genre we request that you send us a small blurb about your book, to see if the content is immediately interesting. We are happy to read very short bios about you as well (especially if you would like Hikari to interview you).

Simply send your pitch to the email on top of the page and please specify if you prefer one reviewer over another (Hikari Loftus or Doni Faber). Depending on our schedules and how many book reviews we are already working on, we will do our best to get your review done within 3 weeks of receiving the request, if we do decide to read your book. If it ends up taking longer than 3 weeks we will contact you with the circumstances and a new working deadline.
