Happy Mother's Day!
This is a great mother's day
read. What would you do if your mom died of cancer? And your famous
physicist of a father told you that she might be alive in a parallel
universe? The answer for Albie Bright is, anything he possibly can.
He uses a radioactive banana, a cat, a quantum computer borrowed from
his mom, and a cardboard box to trek across universes.
This book is utterly delightful.
It felt both well-researched about current understandings of quantum
physics and playful at the same time. (I doubt anyone will
successfully travel via banana any time soon, but I wanted it
to work for Albie, so that was good enough.)
This felt like the kind of
multiverse book I've been looking for. Each world was mostly the
same with only a few subtle or not-so-subtle differences. And
Albie's motivation to find his dead mom was much more pure than some
other multiverse scenarios I've read like extracting resources for
money. The only problem with this book is that I wanted more of it.
