Folded Pages Distillery uses a five star rating system to rank each book. It is based on the same guidelines that Goodreads uses, but with some more details and additions of our own. It is defined as the following: (using a first person perspective)
  • 1/5 stars = I did not like it; emphasis on it being a waste of my time and I don't know why I even bothered finishing it at all. I have very little, if any good things to say about it.

  • 2/5 stars = It was OK; I definitely have more bad to say about it than good, but I didn't mind pushing through and can see some good in it.

  • 3/5 stars = I liked it; I am on the fence about it because there is about as much bad I have to say about it as there is good. I probably won't end up reading it again.

  • 4/5 stars = I really liked it; there are more good things to say about it than bad, but I can find things I didn't like that draw me back from raving about its awesomeness. I can see myself reading it again someday, but I might not get around to it.

  • 5/5 stars = It was amazing! I have very little, if any bad things to say about it and I will make time to read it again in the future.
